MONACO

Monaco over the last few years, largely due to a combined marketing drive which involves the whole municipality under the SBM banner, has made strenuous efforts to recapture its reputation as the ultimate playground of the rich and famous. It boasts one of the best spas in existence today (opened in 1997), although for my money, when it first opened under the direct watchful eye of its Director Christine Yordim, the spa afforded a more personal atmosphere. Today, largely due to its growth, it’s the rhythm of the movements from treatment to treatment which is a bit like a conveyor belt.  Today, under the more general management of the SBM, it has lost its personal touch, but its facilities are still some of the best in the world. In particular, the Olympic size salt water pool, which can be enjoyed if you stay at the Le Hermitage or The Hotel de Paris.  The health conscious restaurant on the pool level still serves some of the best calorie control available in any city anywhere I have visited in the world. The greatest asset to enjoying Monaco is that it is extremely safe. You feel it immediately in the atmosphere, with a ratio of 3 policemen the to every legitimate tax-free citizen, the municipality is a wonderful place to spend the day, when visiting the South of France.  Hotel de Paris Monaco’s most prestigious hotel houses the famous Louis XV restaurant.  If you are rich and famous or aspire to be and can get a table, let me know how the food is.

The places that I personally enjoy for the quality of service, be it a restaurant or retail shop are listed below. More will be added as I visit Monaco to visit my best friend who resides there.
