16 Haussmann

Increasingly Paris, like many cities in Europe, is growing hip to restaurants that are fairly big but still manage to remain intimate. If you are in the Blvd Haussamann area, 16 Hausmann offers a good fixed menu, with  a respectable wine cellar for the size of the restaurant. Frequented by the business community, the service is efficient, and good value for money. The cheese plate that goes with the fixed price menu at lunch is exceptional in its presentation. Relais Plaza

Presided over by director Werner Kuchler, the Relais Plaza, attached to the Plaza Athenee, is a “must experience” on a visit to Paris. The charm of the restaurant lies with Messr Kuchler, who greets every guest, from Prince to Pauper, in a manner that ensures you feel, that you have truly arrived into ‘Parisian Society.” Both at lunch and dinner, the rich and the famous frequent the celebrated restaurant, and visitors to Paris who wish to experience the  “ambiance” of Paris Society.  Chef Phillipe Marc, under the supervision of Alain Ducasse, is in charge of the kitchen. The menu of the day  usually offers  oysters plus another, a main dish, desert or cheese, and coffee.  Excellent value at forty euros.
