VENICE

STATIONERY

Legatoria Piazzesi

As you cross one of the many bridges in Venice, you can easily miss Legatoria Piazzesi, because its simple, rather antiquated and packed to overflowing with boxes and ‘things’. You can barely get in through the door, but  its worth the squeeze. That is precisely why I ventured into this shop, which turns out to be the oldest paper shop in Venice. Amid the stacks you will find beautifully finished boxes covered in one-off paper designs, paper-mache figures, and stationery. Signora Carlson, poet, psychologist, and mother of 17 year-old Olivier, is on-hand to help you choose your purchase. Adding further quaintness to the shop.
